Folder 1-Equal Emploment Opportunity Policy, 1974-1975

President Paul Brown’s files re equal employment opportunity policies.

Jan. 21 – President Brown’s letter of thanks to the Delaware Department of Labor for sending a copy of its “Affirmative Action Package.” The Department’s 35-page report is attached.

August - The August issue of The Manus Informer with a page 3 article about the design of Goldey Beacom’s new campus to include accessibility to the handicapped

August - HEW memo re affirmative actions plans.

Sept. 1 – List of College personnel, indicating minority members. “B” before a name indicates “Black.”

Folder 2-Equal Employment Opportunity Policy--Project Equailty, 1974 -1976

President Brown’s file re Project Equality of Delmarva, Inc., part of a national program for equal employment opportunity.

April 5 - Project Equality letter to President Brown with recommendations for changes in the College’s employment policies and practices and for the development of an affirmative action plan to implement an equal employment opportunity policy. Project Equality material are attached.

Oct. 8 - Project Equality letter President Brown requesting a review of the College’s progress President Brown’s Nov.4 reply is attached.

Nov. 14 – Project Equality letter to President Brown proposing a meeting on Jan. 9, 1975

Feb. 10 – Project Equality letter and four-page report giving the College an "accepted" rating. Nine pages of Project Equality literature are attached.

April 4 – Two College report forms sent to Project Equality—one dated Nov.13, 1974, and the other April 4, 1975. The forms give a breakdown of College employees by job category, sex, and minorities.

Folder 3-Equal Employment Opportunity, n.d.

Publications related to equal employment opportunity from the files of President Paul Brown. They include government and commercial publications.

Folder 4-8-Institutional Statistics, 1970-1976

Folder 4

1971-72 statistics. Papers include HEGIS reports made in 1970, 1971, and 1972; employment surveys of the graduates of August 1970 - June 1971 and of August 1971 - June 1972; and comparisons of Goldey Beacom yearly costs to students with those of other area colleges.

Folder 5

1973 statistics. File includes enrollment and attendance reports various dates, some of which give breakdowns by curriculum, by home residence of students, or by high school. The HEGIS report for 1973 attributes a significant increase in enrollments to a new evening division program for veterans. An undated 2-page tabulation sets forth a 5-year comparison of enrollments, tuition, room and broad costs, and other data for the academic years from 1969-70 through 1973-74.

Folder 6

1974 statistics. In addition to the HEGIS report for 1974, this folder contains the regular attendance and enrollment reports and a February employment survey of graduates of August 1972 - June 1973. A graph titled Total Enrollments does a monthly September-February comparison of enrollments for the academic years from 1970-71 through 1973-74.

Folder 7

1975 statistics. In addition to the regular enrollment and attendance reports, this folder contains four graphs depicting changes in enrollment from 1973-1975. Separate graphs show the changes in day school, night school, the veterans division, and the composite change.

Folder 8

1976 statistics. In addition to enrollment and attendance reports, this folder includes data from three special surveys of students in the day division, in the evening and weekend division, and a composite of all Goldey Beacom students. Data include breakdowns by sex, marital status, religion, for choosing Goldey Beacom, etc.
